Access Agriculture and BLUETOWN enter into strategic partnership
Access Agriculture and BLUETOWN have today announced a strategic partnership wherein all Access Agriculture farming content will be made freely available to users on the BLUETOWN Local Cloud.
The partnership follows the inclusion of Access Agriculture content on Local Cloud targeting smallholder farmers in Western Ghana in a project lead by CARE in Denmark and Ghana. Quality farmer-to-farmer training videos from Access Agriculture are made available in both English and the local Ghanaian language Twi, spoken in the region by several million people, ensuring that all farmers, regardless of educational background, can understand the important messages in the learning videos.
In the project, Access Agriculture provides some of the content relevant to the farmers in the area; BLUETOWN provides the Local Cloud digital distribution platform that allows local users to access and watch the content for free; while CARE is responsible for local engagement in communities to ensure farmers benefit from the content and information available to them.
“Access Agriculture has great content in international and local languages spoken all over the world, that targets disenfranchised smallholder farmers trying to improve living off their lands. As we expand our coverage to new regions and countries and reach farmers in other areas of the world, we want to take that content with us, as we find it valuable in achieving our company’s vision.” – Says BLUETOWN CEO Peter Ib.
