BLUETOWN’s solution acknowledged by the Danish Foreign Ministry at the WHS

COPENHAGEN: BLUETOWN is present at the World Humanitarian Summit 2016 in Istanbul these days. Today we had the privilege of discussion our solutions with the Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, who in a press release refers to BLUETOWN as an example of how to invent “…products that can make a difference for people in need”.

Summary from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs press release 24 May 2016:
International aid version 2.0: Sun powered Wi-Fi and children’s latrines
Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kristian Jensen, wants Danish and international aid organisations to be inventive.
“The world is facing massive humanitarian challenges. This is the reason Danish and international organisations have to be inventive and cooperate in new private partnerships. By involving new technology and clever solutions targeted the individual, we can be more efficient”, says Kristian Jensen.
Two Danish companies in the network, BLUETOWN and Icono, offers sun powered Wi-Fi hotspots and latrines for children, respectively. The Wi-Fi ensures easy and quick access to information, whereas the latrines can improve hygiene and contribute to better health. Both products, which can make a difference for people in need.
The network, Global Alliances for Humanitarian Innovation (GAHI), brings a wide selection of global, regional, and national networks and actors together. In this network is access2innovation, which BLUETOWN is part of at the WHS.
