CONFERENCE on the 17 Global Goals
BLUETOWN – Business solutions for the Global Goals
Purpose and context
The Global Goals will reshape global development and reframe the role of the private sector. Business is an essential partner that has the capacity to bridge the gap in technical capacity and finance of the 2030 Development Agenda.
The purpose of the conference is therefore to bring together high-level representatives from business, the UN, civil society and government to discuss how to scale up business solutions to the Global Goals. The conference will also be a formal part of the process leading up to the development to a new Danish strategy for development cooperation.
Organizing partners and venue
The Confederation of Danish Industry is the initiator of the conference, and is organizing together with Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UNOPS, UNHCR, and UNDP Nordic Office. The conference will be hosted by the Confederation of Danish Industry in Copenhagen.
The conference will take place 18 March 2016.
The expected number of participants is 200. Approx. half will be from business, and the other half will consist of a range of stakeholders from civil society, embassies, knowledge institutions, and international organizations.
