We expect that you have a relevant educational background in IT or engineering, supplemented by courses and certifications within IP network architecture, design, virtualization and security and that you are updated on the latest technology trends. CCIE and CCAr certifications and knowledge on IP6 is an advantage but not a requirement for this position.
Based on your previous job experience you must be able to show proven capabilities within design and implementation of large IP networks, preferably from companies working as a system integrators or global infrastructure providers with footprints in the developing parts of the world. Further, you must have had hands-on experience with SDN, network service automation, storage solutions, automation frameworks (e.g. Ancible or puppet), JSON and scripting (e.g. Python or Perl).
You must like to work in a flat organization and must be good at communicating, gaining influence and finding simple solutions to the complex problems we’re often facing. Despite the sometimes hectic environment that is the nature of a start-up we put a great emphasis on getting documentation in place all the way from architecture and design to device configurations and testing and we expect that you will support this. You must be the kind of person who takes ownership, gets things done and have an attitude of doing what it takes for all of us to succeed.
In return, BLUETOWN can offer an exciting position in our Global R&D department where you and our System Architect will be working closely together with the Technology Strategy department. Based on proof of concepts from Technology Strategy you will, as part of the R&D architect team, be defining our complete solution architecture and setting the course for our product development. Your main areas of responsibility will cover:
- Translating BLUETOWN’s business strategies into product strategies, requirements and product development roadmaps for all networked component
- Defining the strategy for standardized configurations and automated configuration generation and implement the same
- Creating network architecture, topology and design for BLUETOWN’s network solutions, addressing all aspects of automation, device configuration, remote management, external integrations (mobile data offload in Wi-Fi networks, billing and payment solution, etc.), security, etc.
- Establishing Device Configuration requirements
- Development of tools for fast IP deployment in close cooperation with ‘Network Operations and Service Delivery organization
- Train our network engineers around the globe to ensure that IP network design strategies are understood and followed
BLUETOWN has an ambition of working with the highest possible degree of automation as we believe that this will be a significant differentiator for our abilities to deploy and manage networks – and the fact that we are a young company with almost no legacy infrastructure is making this vision a real possibility!
The working location will be BLUETOWN headquarters in Copenhagen Ø. Travel time will be maximum 30 days per year, mainly in developing parts of the world. We have a good and flexible working environment and a strong focus on employee development.
